DEFECT SUMMARY: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Taycan vehicles. The pre-collision automatic hazard lights may activate in non-emergency situations. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
CONSEQUENCE SUMMARY: An activation of hazard lights in non-emergency situations could confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
CORRECTIVE SUMMARY: Dealers will reprogram the hazard lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2021. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AMC1.
